POSActive is a point-of-sale system for butchers and grocers, general retail and retail. A Mount Eliza operation selling on-premise retail POS, with head office control of up to 99 stores from one point.
Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.
Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.
POSActive runs out of Mount Eliza on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, with a copyright trail on its own site going back to 2001. The deliberate choice in the product is where the data lives: it runs on a server the business owns, so sales keep going when the internet does not. That is an unfashionable position and a sensible one for a grocer or a butcher who cannot stop trading because a line dropped.
The scope is small-to-medium retail with between 2,000 and 50,000 products — stock management, pricing and margin control, customer marketing, remote access, stocktaking and reporting. Its HeadOffice multi-store module, which the company says was built more than ten years ago, controls up to 99 stores from one point. Tyro lists it under butchers, grocers and supermarkets as well as general retail, with integrated purchases, receipts and refunds.
Because it is on-premise, the terminal integration is a local one sitting on your own hardware rather than a cloud service someone else patches. Ask who does the install and who you call when the till and the terminal stop speaking, because on this architecture that is one person's job and you want to know whose.

A POS reaches a bank through middleware. Each card below is one certified route; the banks it reaches are on the middleware page.
