POSApt POS — bank compatibility

POSApt is a point-of-sale system for hospitality and retail, built by VolgAI. a Clayton-based POS from a young Melbourne dev shop that also builds websites.

Certified on mx51, which is the engine behind several banks’ own terminal offerings rather than something a merchant buys by name.

The integration covers tipping, one till driving several terminals and surcharging.

The mx51 integration uses SPI JavaScript and was last certified in March 2024, on Android and Browser. mx51 holds 2 separate certified builds for it, so what works depends which one you are on.

POSApt sells POS software and hardware to hospitality and retail from Clayton in Melbourne's south-east, with city landing pages for Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Canberra, plus a separate UK site. Published software pricing starts at $66 a month for hospitality and $99 a month for retail, with a POS-and-online-ordering plan at $185 a month including GST. Hardware is quoted separately and carries a 12-month replacement warranty. Setup is listed as free on the hospitality and retail plans.

The vendor behind it is VolgAI. The booking links on POSApt use volgai.com.au addresses, and VolgAI's own directory listing puts it in Clayton with 10 to 49 staff and a founding year of 2023, describing itself as a web design and development firm — websites, mobile apps, SEO, content and paid marketing — with POS alongside. Other clients it lists are education and ecommerce businesses, not venues.

Named POSApt case studies are small venues: Golden Age Hotel, Taste of Latin, Guac & Roll. The feature list is broad for a company of that age — online ordering, ecommerce, self-service kiosks, loyalty and gift cards, staff scheduling, dual-screen terminals, kitchen printers, Xero integration.
