Posera POS — bank compatibility

Posera is a point-of-sale system for hospitality, built by ITERA. A TSX-listed hospitality software company that sold its best product, then sold itself, and left the exchange in 2020.

Posera traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange, latterly as PAY and earlier as Posera-HDX Ltd under HDX. It described itself as being in the business of managing merchant transactions and facilitating payment, with POS software, prepaid payment solutions, self-serve kiosks and mobile POS terminals, and offices spread across Toronto, Mississauga, Brantford, Montreal, Seattle, London, Glasgow, Paris and Singapore. Its core products were Maitre'D POS, a kitchen display system and SecureTablePay.

It shrank deliberately before it disappeared. On 14 September 2017 Posera completed the sale of its FingerPrints POS system and related assets to SICOM Systems for $12.2 million, a product it had launched in 2004 and run in many Canadian quick-service locations, in order to focus on the Maitre'D line. Two years later it was gone: PayFacto's all-cash offer of C$14.5 million was announced on 26 November 2019 and closed in February 2020, with the company's directors noting it freed shareholders from the burdens of a public listing.

Posera continues to operate under its own brand as a PayFacto subsidiary, and PayFacto still develops Maitre'D and Veloce. But the Posera name is a holding brand now, not a counterparty — if an Australian integrator quotes you Posera, the contract and the support chain run back to Montreal.
