POSPal is a point-of-sale system for cafes and hospitality. Chinese, founded in 2010, and claiming over three million merchants worldwide — but it only reached this part of the world in 2022.
Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.
PosPal Technology Co., Ltd was founded in 2010 in Xiamen, Fujian, and is still headquartered there. The company claims more than three million merchants across over 180 countries. It moved into Southeast Asia in 2019 and into North America, Europe and Oceania in 2022.
Which is the thing worth knowing before you buy it in Australia: this is an enormous product with a very young local presence. The scale is real and the software is well past proving it works, so the questions are not about the software. They are about who supports it here, how long the local terminal integration has actually been in the field, and which acquirer that integration reaches — because an install base of three million somewhere else does not help you when a terminal drops out on a Saturday.
