QDOS Point of Sale is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Qdos Technology. A small Melbourne shop with two very large customers — both state arms of Vinnies run it.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
Qdos Technology was founded in 2002 and operates out of Port Melbourne. It is a small outfit — reported headcount runs between 5 and 20 depending on the source — selling cloud ERP, CRM, order and inventory, warehouse and distribution and point of sale to retail and wholesale distribution businesses. Zeller describes it as Australian-made and notes it suits multi-store and franchise environments, with Afterpay and Zip Pay supported.
The customer list is the interesting bit. St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and St Vincent de Paul Society NSW both appear as QDOS POS customers, with 656 and 1,336 employees respectively on the same source — a serious multi-store, multi-site workload for a company this size. Not-for-profit and retail are where the adoption concentrates, which fits: op-shop networks need many tills, central reporting and very little complexity at each counter.
