Qiki POS — bank compatibility

Qiki is a point-of-sale system for hospitality. a Collingwood operator that sells the terminal and the till as one bundle and pays you Qantas points on top.

Certified on mx51, which is the engine behind several banks’ own terminal offerings rather than something a merchant buys by name.

The integration covers tipping and surcharging.

The mx51 integration uses SPI iOS and was last certified in November 2021, on iOS and iPadOS.

QIKI Pay runs out of 5 Hoddle St, Collingwood in Melbourne, selling hospitality and retail POS as a fully managed bundle — hardware, software, printer, cash drawer and integrated EFTPOS — at an advertised $20 a week. It also sells payments on their own: online payments, pay by link, Tap to Pay, Android mobile terminals with a built-in 4G SIM. The differentiator it leads with is a Qantas Business Rewards tie-in, so merchants earn points on transactions.

The scale claims do not agree with each other. The about page says QIKI works with "over 100" companies across Australia; the home page and meta description say "thousands" of venues. Both are the company's own numbers, and it does not explain how they relate. The logo wall is more concrete than either: Gloria Jean's Coffees, Boost Juice, Zambrero, Muffin Break and Hudsons Coffee.

One thing to be clear-eyed about when comparing: QIKI is in the payments business as well as the POS business, and claims integration with more than 600 POS systems plus 24/7 onshore support, a lifetime hardware warranty and next-day settlement. Nothing is published on founders, founding year or ownership.
