Remira POS — bank compatibility

Remira POS is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Remira Australia. The Australian arm of a 500-person German supply chain software group, not a local POS company.

It is certified on all three middleware layers that matter here — Linkly, mx51 and Tyro. Eighteen of the 1,127 systems on this site manage that, which leaves your choice of bank about as open as it gets.

Certified to do split bills and phone and mail order. Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.

The Linkly integration runs in the cloud or on premise. Linkly holds 2 separate certified builds for it, so what works depends which one you are on. The mx51 integration uses SPI Java and was last certified in April 2023, on Windows.

REMIRA is headquartered in Dortmund, Germany, has been trading over 30 years, employs around 500 people and turns over more than 50 million euros — one of the larger software companies based in Germany. It runs twelve locations worldwide and the Australian office is in Chatswood, NSW.

The important bit is what the company actually is. REMIRA is a supply chain and omnichannel commerce business first: inventory planning, demand forecasting, supplier collaboration, order management. It reports more than 1,500 customers worldwide and roughly 8,000 points of sale. The POS is the store-facing end of a much bigger stack, which is why you tend to find it where head office picked the platform rather than where a shop owner picked a till.

If you are a single-site retailer being quoted this, it is worth asking why. It is built for operators with a warehouse problem as well as a counter.
