Remote POS — bank compatibility

Remote POS is a point-of-sale system for hospitality and retail. Listed under the product name, while the vendor actually trades as Remoteapp on a different domain again.

Certified on mx51, which is the engine behind several banks’ own terminal offerings rather than something a merchant buys by name.

Certified to do tipping.

The mx51 integration uses SPI Java or SPI iOS and was last certified in March 2019, on Android and iOS. mx51 holds 2 separate certified builds for it, so what works depends which one you are on.

Tyro's POS partner directory lists the company as Remoteapp, with the product Remote POS and the website remoteappstore.com -- a different domain from the remotepos.com.au that appears in most listings. No Australian entity turns up on the ABR for Remoteapp, Remote App or Remote POS, so the registered business behind it could not be identified.

Tyro classifies it as general retail, and the integrated feature list is the bare minimum: integrated purchases and integrated receipts. No tipping, no surcharging, no pre-auth. If you need any of those at the terminal, this is not the one.

It is Tyro-accredited, including under Tyro's Bendigo Bank white label, but absent from Linkly's accredited vendor list. Both of its domains block automated crawling, which means there is very little published to read and nothing visible to AI search either. No reviews, no press and no directory profile could be found anywhere.
