Revel Systems is a point-of-sale system for hospitality, built by Revel Australia (Existing Integrations Only). The iPad POS that raised $170m, got sold for $250m, and is being quietly wound into its buyer's own product.

Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs on premise.

Revel Systems launched in 2010 and became one of the defining iPad point-of-sale platforms — cloud-based, iOS-native, aimed at multi-location restaurants and established retailers. It raised $100 million in 2014, another $13.5m the year after at a $500 million valuation, and around $170.8 million in total across its life. Investors included Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe and Light Street.

Shift4 Payments announced it was buying Revel on its Q1 2024 earnings call for $250 million in cash, and closed in mid-2024. At the time Revel terminals sat in about 18,000 merchant locations representing roughly $17 billion in annual payment volume. Shift4's own stated plan was to take the best capabilities out of Revel into its SkyTab POS and 'delete the duplicative product offerings'.

That last sentence is the one to read twice. Revel is not an independent company any more, its buyer has publicly said it intends to consolidate, and the Australian directory record here reflects an existing integration rather than an actively sold product. If you are on Revel, get a written answer on the support horizon before you sign anything long.
