RTP/ONE POS — bank compatibility

RTP/ONE is a point-of-sale system for hospitality, built by Resort Technology Partners. Born inside Vail Resorts, and after three sales the till now sits inside Global Payments — an acquirer, which is unusual.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
RTP began in 1998 as a point-of-sale commerce engine inside Vail Resorts, built for Vail and other Rocky Mountain ski fields, then spun out as its own company headquartered in Avon, Colorado, later trading as RTP, LLC. RTP|One is the platform: daily tickets and season passes with real-time inventory, equipment rental with item-level tracking, lesson and instructor scheduling, retail and food and beverage from cafeteria to fine dining, barcode and RFID access control, gift cards and stored value, and a REST integration layer called SummitAPI announced in August 2026. It is not a lodging system. At the time of its sale it ran 20 of the top 30 ski resorts in North America, and by 2022 it was described as having more than 100 clients. Named customers have included Aspen Skiing Company, Intrawest, Powdr Corp., SkiStar and Vail Resorts, with Big Sky, Telluride, Palisades Tahoe and Jackson Hole on its current site.
The ownership chain is the real story, and most merchants would have no idea. SKIDATA AG took a 25 per cent stake in January 2009. Active Network bought RTP outright in November 2011 for US$21.5 million. Vista Equity Partners then took Active Network private in a US$1.05 billion deal that closed in November 2013. Global Payments bought Active Network's communities and sports divisions for about US$1.2 billion, completing in September 2017 — so the till is now inside a global acquirer. Global Payments was reported in November 2024 to be weighing a sale of the Active Network unit, but nothing was signed. The Australian footprint is genuine but historical: SKIDATA and RTP gear went into Thredbo and Perisher for the 2011 season and Mt Hotham in 2012. Perisher, Falls Creek and Hotham have since gone to Vail Resorts, which runs its own stack, and Active Network lists no Australian office — so do not assume local presence or local support.
