SENPOS Advantage is a point-of-sale system for hospitality, built by SENPOS Point of Sale. Built inside a Newcastle Sharp dealership in 1998, and sold to an American club-software group in 2024.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
SENPOS is a clubs-and-pubs system, not a retail one — clubs, golf clubs, race clubs, hotels, nightclubs and multi-venue groups, with gaming integration built in. It was established in 1998 by Sharp Electronics Group of Newcastle, a dealership founded in 1971 by John Duncan and a partner who started out selling electronic calculators from the boots of their cars and moved into cash registers. Sharp wrote, installed and supported SENPOS entirely in-house, with no third party. The parent rebranded to Sharp Office in May 2021 and deliberately kept SENPOS as a separate brand.
Northstar Technologies of Alpharetta, Georgia announced its acquisition of SENPOS on 11 December 2024; terms were not disclosed. Northstar was founded in 2003, runs software for over 1,500 membership clubs worldwide and has more than 400 staff. It already owned MiClub, the Australasian golf-club software business it bought in October 2021 — and MiClub had been a SENPOS integration partner for years before the two ended up under the same roof. In April 2025 POSCOM merged into SENPOS, bringing its Queensland and NSW support teams across.
SENPOS says it serves over 400 clubs. Named venues include Penrith RSL, The Epping Club, Cessnock Leagues Club, Coffs Ex Services, Wallsend Diggers, Collegians, Newcastle Racecourse and Oxley Golf Club. Management changed in October 2026: MiClub CEO Chris Little now runs both brands, Thomas Rabl becomes Director of Operations, and long-standing leaders George Tuntevski and David Potter finished at the end of that month. One inconsistency to note — the site's "over 30 years" line does not square with its own stated 1998 start.
