Shexie Platinum — practice software and bank compatibility

Shexie Platinum is practice-management software for health and medical specialists, built by Shexie. Sydney, 1994, still run by its directors — the surgical specialists' option rather than the GP one.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

It handles Medicare Easyclaim and multi-merchant. Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.

Shexie Pty Ltd has been building practice management software since 1994 out of Sydney, with a mailing address in Hornsby. Randal Halligan and Dean Jones are the directors. Shexie Platinum is the flagship and it runs either on-premise or in the cloud, from a single user up to multiple users across several locations.

The user base is the tell. Shexie names practice managers, surgeons, specialists and general practitioners, and cites the surgery departments at Nepean District Hospital and the RPA Melanoma Unit. That is the specialist and surgical end of the market rather than general practice — which is roughly what you would expect from a product that has had three decades to narrow down.

On payments the Tyro integration is deliberately narrow: integrated purchases, integrated receipts and multi-merchant. Multi-merchant is the useful one, and it is the question to lead with — if you have several practitioners billing under separate merchant facilities out of one reception desk, that feature is the difference between one terminal and a row of them.
