ShopLine POS is a point-of-sale system for fashion and apparel and retail, built by SHOPLINE. Hong Kong-founded, an ex-Goldman Sachs analyst running operations, and half a million merchants claimed worldwide.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.

SHOPLINE started in Hong Kong in 2013, founded by Fiona Lau — a former retail investment analyst at Goldman Sachs, now COO — and Tony Wong, a software engineer, now CEO. The two met at a Hong Kong startup event and went through 500 Startups' tenth accelerator batch in 2014. The POS module is the offline half of a platform whose centre of gravity is online: online store with 120+ apps, social commerce across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and livestream, plus SHOPLINE Payments and fulfilment.

The money came from Asia. JOYY Inc., the Nasdaq-listed Chinese livestreaming company, put in US$20 million in January 2020, and the Alibaba Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Fund and CDIB Capital Group are also on the register. Merchant numbers have moved fast — over 250,000 SMEs across seven Asian markets as at 2021, and the company now claims more than 500,000 brands globally.

There is an Australian office, alongside the US, UK, Taipei, Guangzhou, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Shenzhen and Singapore. What the POS is actually for is inventory that stays in sync between the website and the shop floor: real-time sync, smart restock alerts, mobile stock counting. If you are purely bricks and mortar there are better tills on this site. If you sell online and off, that sync is the whole argument.

Connected through

A POS reaches a bank through middleware. Each card below is one certified route; the banks it reaches are on the middleware page.
