Sihot POS — bank compatibility

Sihot is a point-of-sale system for cafes and hospitality. Forty years old, still owner-run, and the whole Asia-Pacific operation works out of Surfers Paradise.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

Certified to do split bills.

Sihot is a hotel property management system; the POS is an outlet till for hotel restaurants and bars that comes integrated with the PMS, not a standalone product you buy on its own. It covers order-taking on smart devices, card payments and foreign currency, QR ordering from guests' phones and touchscreen self-order terminals, all managed centrally with the rest of the hotel. The payments module is SIHOT.PAY, and the company names no terminal or gateway partner publicly.

Behind it is GUBSE AG of Schiffweiler in the Saarland, founded in 1986 — and it started as campsite software before it became a hotel system, with camping still a listed segment forty years on. Norbert Wernet took over management in 1988, shares were distributed to Jörg Berger, Norbert Wernet and Jochen Conrad in 1996, and those managers still run it as the executive board. It is privately held and fully independent, which is genuinely rare in hospitality software. It bought the POS hardware specialist ADDIPOS in December 2022, keeping founders Kai Grobusch and Peter Schmelzer; price undisclosed.

Australia is a real market, not a flag on a map. First Australian use was in 2007, the Asia-Pacific subsidiary was founded in 2010, and SIHOT ASIA/PACIFIC Pty Ltd runs the entire region from Level 4, 46 Cavill Avenue, Surfers Paradise — not Sydney or Singapore. Group scale is 220-plus staff across ten offices in 39-plus countries; an older company boilerplate puts installations at about 3,500 hotels. Customers named include Accor, Best Western, Wyndham, Motel One, MEININGER and "Mantra hotels resorts and apartments".

A POS reaches a bank through middleware. Each card below is one certified route; the banks it reaches are on the middleware page.
