SmartCheck is a point-of-sale system for hospitality, built by Liverton. A hotel self-check-in kiosk from an Auckland group — and the brand has been retired in favour of SmartStay.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
Liverton Limited was incorporated in New Zealand on 22 September 2000 by James Scott and Richard Bourne, began in Wellington and now runs out of Eden Terrace in Auckland, 95% owned by Liverton Technology Group. SmartCheck was its self-service hotel check-in and check-out kiosk, sold by the hospitality side of the business back when the company was split between Hospitality and Security divisions. Its big win was what it called the world's largest casino hotel chain, with the first install in a 3,000-room hotel and casino in Macau — Liverton opened a Hong Kong office to support Asian SmartCheck sales off the back of it.
The group today spans five business units: SmartStay for hospitality self-service, Networks for private and embedded fibre into hotels, student accommodation, retirement villages and apartments, energy management, access control with digital and mobile door locks, and payments. It claims 600-plus projects and over a million end users, with Accor, IHG, EVT and Rydges as named clients. Justin de Lille is group CEO.
Two things to know before you act on this record. SmartCheck itself is a legacy brand — it has gone from Liverton's site and the live hospitality product is SmartStay, so do not accept a quote that still says SmartCheck without asking what you are actually getting. And the security half went its own way: Liverton Security Limited was incorporated separately in April 2018, is owned by the Bourne and Wills families rather than by the group, and is now a cyber security firm in Wellington with no hospitality products at all.
