StarPOS — bank compatibility

StarPOS is a point-of-sale system for hospitality, built by StarrTec. Same Brisbane platform as the StarrPOS record here, under the spelling the company now uses itself.

Certified on both Linkly and mx51, which between them cover most of the acquiring market.

Certified for pay at table, tipping, pre-authorisation, cash out and phone and mail order, plus 1 other capability.

The Linkly integration runs on premise. The mx51 integration uses SPI .NET and was last certified in December 2021, on Windows.

StarPOS is Starrtec's point of sale, built in Brisbane and sold to hospitality venues Australia-wide. Starrtec has been the developer and supplier of the Star Office inventory program and Star POS systems throughout Australasia for over twenty years. The surrounding product set runs to StarOffice, StarBoard, StarPad, StarMonitor, StarLoyalty, StarEntry Kiosk, a StarManager app, a StarCustomer app and StarPDE, covering kitchen management, QR ordering, inventory and loyalty.

Segments are restaurants and fine dining, casual dining, franchise and quick service, pubs and bars, accommodation and hotels, and clubs. The company's old domain starrtec.com.au redirects to starpos.com.au now, and its social accounts still sit under the StarrPOS spelling — which is how one platform ended up listed twice.

That duplication matters for the one question this page exists to answer. This record and the StarrPOS record carry different middleware, because each payment directory keyed on a different spelling of the product name. Neither record alone gives you the full set of banks, so get Starrtec to confirm which middleware your install runs before you take a bank-compatibility answer from either page.
