Store Commerce POS — bank compatibility

Store Commerce is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Retail Realm Distribution. The till here is Microsoft's, not the listed vendor's — Retail Realm distributes it and bolts extensions onto it.

Worth correcting the attribution first. Store Commerce is Microsoft's own product. Microsoft's documentation calls it "the modern point of sale (POS) experience for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce" — a Windows application built on the Edge WebView2 control and powered by Commerce Scale Unit, which unifies Modern point of sale (MPOS) and Cloud point of sale into a single app and replaces MPOS, with complete feature parity including integrated hardware support and offline mode. Microsoft deprecated MPOS and the Retail hybrid apps in October 2023, recommends Store Commerce or Store Commerce for web for all new deployments, and tells existing customers to plan their migration off MPOS. No removal date for MPOS has been published.

Retail Realm Distribution Inc. is the distributor and add-on developer, headquartered in Napa, California. Its own About page says only that it was founded in the mid-1990s — no year is published anywhere — and trade press names Afshin Alikhani as founder and chairman; no owner or parent is named in any source. Its history runs straight through Microsoft's retail line: it was a leading distributor of Microsoft Dynamics RMS and of Dynamics AX for Retail, and from 1 February 2014 all United States orders for RMS Store Operations, RMS Headquarters and Dynamics POS 2009 had to go through its online ordering system. It co-developed Microsoft Dynamics Retail Essentials with Microsoft, jointly announced in November 2014 as the successor for the RMS small-business segment. Today it resells Dynamics 365 Commerce and publishes its MAX suite of extensions plus RMH Bridge. It has no Australian office; its Australia and New Zealand channel for Retail Management Hero was Advantage Solutions Distribution, appointed exclusive distributor effective 1 September 2017.
