Tapnorder POS and Payment Solution — bank compatibility

Tapnorder POS and Payment Solution is a point-of-sale system for hospitality, built by Tap & Order. A UK-linked operation localising into Australia and New Zealand, with legal documents that have not caught up to the registered entity.

Certified on mx51, which is the engine behind several banks’ own terminal offerings rather than something a merchant buys by name.

Certified to do tipping, phone and mail order and surcharging.

The mx51 integration uses SPI Java and was last certified in January 2026, on Android.

The site's own Terms of Use names the operator as "Tapnorder Pty Ltd". No entity by that name exists on the Australian Business Register. There is a TAP AND ORDER PTY LTD, ABN active from 2 July 2025 out of VIC 3196, which matches the vendor name and the site's stated Victorian governing law and Victorian courts. But the site publishes no ABN, no ACN and no registered address anywhere, so that link is a name-and-jurisdiction match rather than a confirmed one. Treat it as unresolved.

The contact details point at three countries, which is the most telling thing about it. The privacy page displays an @tapnorder.online address whose underlying link resolves to support@tapnorder.co.uk; the terms page carries legal@tapnorder.com.au and support@tapnorder.com.au in its embedded links. One small site, three national domains. The business names also tell you where this is heading: "Tap and Order" was registered on 17 June 2026 and "WavePay" the very next day, so there is an own-payments play coming.

On what you would actually be buying: cloud POS plus online ordering, order management, inventory, customer data and staff management, pitched at hospitality across Australia and New Zealand, with a zero-cost EFTPOS option -- meaning surcharging. No kiosk product. Pricing is quote-only, with no tiers and no amounts, just "Contact us now to get a personalized pricing quote that suits your budget." The three testimonials are attributed to "Restaurant", "Takeaway business" and "Bar" with no names attached, and the registered VIC entity is not GST-registered, which in Australia means turnover under $75,000.
