The Edge is a point-of-sale system for general retail, gifts and homeware and retail, built by Retail Edge Consultants. A jewellers' system, started in 2005 by people who ran jewellery stores themselves.

Certified on Linkly and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The Linkly route does not.

Certified to do split bills. Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.

The Linkly integration runs on premise.

The Edge is the flagship POS and inventory system from Retail Edge Consultants, established in 2005 by Australian jewellery store owners and run by founder and managing director David Brown. There is a sister company in the US. They have over 400 jewellery stores on the system across Australasia.

This is about as niche as retail POS gets, and that is the point. Jewellery has problems a general till does not solve, and the feature list reads accordingly: integrated job tracking for repairs and custom orders, special orders, wish lists, eInvoicing to get stock on shelves faster, a Distribution Manager that pulls supplier product photography, and Edge Pulse for real-time reporting on sales trends and stock performance. Shopify, Zeller and Podium integrations are there too. Retail Edge also sells business coaching and benchmarking alongside the software, so part of what you are buying is industry comparison data.

If you are a jeweller, the shortlist is short and this is on it. If you are not, there is no reason to look at it.
