The Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland is a point-of-sale system for entertainment and leisure and ticketing. A 150-year-old member-owned show society that certified its own till — because nine days a year it runs one of Australia's biggest food and beverage operations.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
The RNA was established in 1875 with Governor Sir William Cairns as its first president, and held its first show — the Intercolonial Exhibition — from 22 to 26 August 1876, drawing more than 15,000 people to 1,700 entries across 650 classes. King George V granted the Royal prefix in 1921. It is a member-based, not-for-dividend organisation run by 21 councillors, and it owns and operates the Brisbane Showgrounds, 1.5km from the Brisbane CBD, hosting more than 250 events a year plus the Royal International Convention Centre.
The reason it appears in a POS directory as its own vendor becomes obvious at the numbers. Across nine days of the 150th Ekka in 2026 the RNA drew over 420,000 people and sold 194,000-plus strawberry sundaes, 150,000-plus Dagwood Dogs, 40,000-plus glasses of wine, 30,000-plus beers, 5,500-plus cans of rum and 2,885-plus steaks from the Royal Queensland Steakhouse, while creating 2,000-plus jobs and running 21,500-plus competition entries. The 2025 show topped 425,000 visitors, the biggest in almost twenty years. There is also a 1,200 square metre commercial kitchen at the Royal ICC and a 300-metre retail street with 25 stores on site.
And the venue is a construction site as well as a showground. The Brisbane Showgrounds Regeneration Project with Lendlease, master plan approved November 2010, is a 15-year, roughly $2.9 billion redevelopment across 22 hectares, expected to generate $300 million a year for Queensland. Delivered so far: the Royal ICC, Kingsgate, the Rydges hotel, King Street and its car park, Marquee No. 2, Alexandria Park, and 25 King — described as the world's largest engineered timber office building. The Ekka has run right through it.
