TryBooking Box Office is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by TryBooking. The on-the-door arm of an Australian ticketing platform that traded as Bookwana until 2015.

Certified on Linkly, running in the cloud. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs in the cloud.

Box Office is TryBooking's point-of-sale product: door sales, walk-ups at the gate and sellers roaming the crowd, taking card, cash, Apple Pay, Google Wallet and contactless. It comes two ways — a free app on your own Android or iOS device, or Box Office Web in a browser on a TryBooking-hired terminal with a built-in ticket printer. Inventory is shared live with online sales so a seat cannot be sold twice, and several staff can sell at once on separate phones. Printing tickets only works on the hired terminal; scanning is a separate app.

The company is TryBooking Pty Ltd, incorporated on 10 August 2007 — under the name Bookwana Pty Ltd, which it kept until 10 November 2015. It is based in South Yarra with offices in Auckland and Kendal in England, and says 15 million-plus tickets sold, 9,000-plus not-for-profits and 75,000-plus charity events. Card payments run through Stripe and Fat Zebra, and it has partnered with ArtsPay, a gateway that gives half its profits to the arts.

Its strongest ground is community and performing arts — Stage Whispers puts it at over 1,500 local theatres and performers and names La Mama, Forge Theatre, Signet Theatre, Camden Civic Centre and Ararat Performing Arts Centre. It published a full visual rebrand on 16 September 2026: new logo, new palette, new type. The company says the platform, pricing, fees and features are unchanged and the rollout is staged, so old and new branding will sit side by side for a while.
