V POS is a point-of-sale system for retail. Tyro's directory names Retail Edge Systems as the company behind it — a Preston shop that sells POS outright, with no monthly software fee.
Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.
Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.
Tyro's partner directory lists the company behind V POS as Retail Edge Systems. Retail Edge works out of 591 Gilbert Road, Preston in Melbourne's north, showroom by appointment, and sells the whole package rather than just software: POS plus EFTPOS terminals, printers, scanners, cash drawers and scales. Its stated markets are cafes and restaurants, fast food including takeaway, sushi and charcoal chicken, grocery and supermarkets, fresh food and weighing such as fish shops, and general retail.
The commercial model is what stands out. The POS is sold as a one-time purchase with no monthly software fees, bundled with a year of onsite warranty, free phone support and a year of ongoing training, with extras like reporting, loyalty, kitchen display and mobile product editing added as needed. In a market that has moved almost entirely to per-terminal subscriptions, buying the licence outright is a real difference — and it means the software vendor is not also billing you monthly alongside the payments.
Worth knowing before you compare quotes: the integration list here covers purchases, receipts, refunds and reports. One caveat on the record itself — Tyro attributes the product to Retail Edge Systems, and Retail Edge's own site does not use the name V POS, so confirm which product you are actually being quoted.
