Visage is a point-of-sale system for automotive and transport, built by Stamina Software. A 1990s Australian tool for dragging green-screen Pick systems into a GUI — and the vendor's old domain now sells automotive data.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
Ross Ferris, as he put it himself, hung up the shingle in 1984 to write his own software, and the Visage project started in 1994. The name is an acronym — Visual Information System Application Generation Environment — and that is precisely what it is: a 4GL and GUI layer sitting over MultiValue databases, the Pick and D3 family. The point of it was that you could run the old green-screen application side by side with the new Visage front end while you migrated off. The suite around it covered rapid application design, business intelligence, a report generator, forms, email and a fax gateway.
Stamina's first client was NoniB Fashions, which grew from three stores to more than 200 across Australia and New Zealand on its software; it also built the Australian Stock Horse Society's bloodline management system. The company registers put Stamina Software Pty Ltd in the Newcastle region — Edgeworth, NSW 2285, with directory listings also at Wallsend — not Wollongong, as it is sometimes described.
Current status is murky, and you should know that before committing a business to it. The stamina.com.au domain today is an automotive data business, capturing and distributing parts and customer-service data to car dealers through a 'DealerLink Network', with no mention of Visage anywhere on it, and third-party profiles put that entity at one to ten employees. The separate staminasoftware.com.au and visage-erp.com domains both resolve but block automated reading, so we could not verify the current module list, customer count or ownership. If a Visage quote lands in front of you, ask who is supporting it and how many sites are actually live.
