Vista Cinema POS is a point-of-sale system for general retail and retail. An Auckland company that quietly ended up running close to half the world's big cinema circuits.

Tyro only. Tyro is its own middleware and its own acquirer, so this one comes with the bank attached — moving bank means a new integration.

Certified for split bills and multi-merchant.

Vista started in 1996 when Murray Holdaway was asked by a global cinema chain to build ticketing software. It is now the dominant cinema management platform on earth: Vista Group puts its enterprise market share at around 48% — its share of cinema circuits with 20 or more screens, excluding Russia, India and China — with 4,485 client sites live at 31 December 2025 and solutions used in more than 80 countries.

The group listed on 11 August 2014, trading on the NZX Main Board and the ASX the same day, at NZ$2.35 a share for an indicative market cap of NZ$188 million. It converted to an ASX Foreign Exempt listing on 27 October 2015 and trades as VGL on both boards. FY25 revenue was $164.3 million, up 10%, with EBITDA of $28.2 million. Headquarters is still Auckland, with around 370 of its roughly 720 staff in New Zealand.

The relevant detail for an Australian exhibitor is the cloud migration. 1,557 sites were live on the Vista Cloud Platform at the end of 2025, about 35% of enterprise client sites, with Village Cinemas Australia (24 sites) among the named signings. Which version you are on changes the payment integration conversation, so establish that before you compare terminals.
