Vista POS — bank compatibility

- entertainment and leisure
Vista is a point-of-sale system for entertainment and leisure. which is the Auckland company behind roughly half the world's cinema box offices.
Certified on mx51, which is the engine behind several banks’ own terminal offerings rather than something a merchant buys by name.
The mx51 integration uses SPI .NET and was last certified in December 2018, on Windows.
Vista Group started in Auckland in 1996 as a cinema software company and never left the niche. It puts its own share at about 48% of the cinema market excluding China, India and Russia — software installed in more than 80 countries, 700-plus staff, eight offices. If you have bought a ticket at an Australian multiplex, the odds are good the counter was running Vista.
The Vista you would buy today is not one product. Vista Cloud is the big-circuit cinema management platform, with Lumos for sales channels and a separate food and beverage module. Veezi is the cut-down cloud version for independent cinemas. Movio does the audience data and studio marketing, Numero does box office reporting, Maccs handles film distribution, and Powster is the creative studio. Flicks, the session-times site plenty of Australians and New Zealanders use weekly, is also theirs.
Worth being clear on what this is: a cinema system, not a hospitality POS. The candy bar and the ticket window are the same transaction in Vista's world, which is why it sits in the dataset against Entertainment and leisure rather than Hospitality. The mx51 certification on record is from December 2018 against version 5.0.3.3, so anyone quoting it today should confirm what is actually certified now.
