VM Instock POS — bank compatibility

VM Instock is a point-of-sale system for retail, built by Between The Flags. A three-store Sydney beachwear family business, not the national chain the name suggests.

Between the Flags has been trading since 1994, founded by Grant Oayda, who ran the Bondi Beach store for years and had earlier operated at The Rocks and Darling Harbour. His daughter Briony Oayda took over around the start of the COVID-19 period and is managing director. There are three stores today, all in NSW: the Pavilion at Bondi Pavilion, the Beach House on Campbell Parade at Bondi Beach, and the Wharf at Pier 26 in Darling Harbour. The trading entity on the register appears to be Between The Flags (Aust) Pty Ltd, ABN 12 098 387 323, active since October 2001, though the website publishes no ABN so that mapping is not confirmed. The brand held its Bondi Pavilion site for 20 years, lost it to the Pavilion redevelopment, and won a shop back by tender.

Two things worth clearing up. Despite the lifesaver red-and-yellow styling and a kids' range called Beach Patrol, nothing public shows a Surf Life Saving Australia licence, royalty arrangement, partnership or dispute — on the evidence it is aesthetic rather than licensed. And the sibling brand Bondi Active began inside Between the Flags before Briony relaunched it as a separate label in 2021; it now has its own flagship on Gould Street, lists all three Between the Flags stores as stockists, and is expanding into the UK and Europe. Both businesses are trading, and an ASIC published notices search returns nothing. As for the record itself, "VM Instock" does not trace to any documented POS product; the only confirmed retail technology is BigCommerce running the online store.
