Vynamic checkout is a point-of-sale system for professional services, built by Diebold Nixdorf. The software brand of a company that restructured $2.7 billion of debt through Chapter 11 and came out the other side in 71 days.
Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.
The Linkly integration runs on premise.
Diebold and Wincor Nixdorf signed their combination on 23 November 2015 and completed on 15 August 2016, trading as Diebold Nixdorf from the next day. Wincor shareholders took EUR38.98 cash plus 0.434 Diebold shares each — roughly EUR891.7 million in cash and 9,928,514 new shares. Vynamic arrived in October 2017 as the merged company's end-to-end Connected Commerce software portfolio, and the cloud-native Vynamic Retail Platform followed in March 2022, with the checkout layer shipping in pre-configured grocery, specialty-fashion and fuel-and-convenience versions.
Then came the hard part. Diebold Nixdorf filed prepackaged Chapter 11 on 1 June 2023 in the Southern District of Texas, alongside a parallel Dutch WHOA proceeding. The plan was confirmed on 13 July 2023 and the company emerged on 11 August 2023, having restructured over $2.7 billion in funded debt in 71 days, with substantially all the equity going to prepetition creditors. The stock was delisted from the NYSE on filing and relisted on emergence; it trades as DBD out of North Canton, Ohio.
None of that is a reason to avoid the software, but it is a reason to read the support contract. A company that has just handed its equity to its creditors prices and prioritises differently from one that has not, and the Australian installed base for this platform is small enough that you want the local support arrangement named in writing.
