WizButler POS — bank compatibility

WizButler is a point-of-sale system for cafes and hospitality, built by ResButler. A Sydney patent-holder that came at hospitality from the booking sheet, not the till.
It is certified on all three middleware layers that matter here — Linkly, mx51 and Tyro. Eighteen of the 1,127 systems on this site manage that, which leaves your choice of bank about as open as it gets.
Certified for pay at table, split bills, tipping, cash out and phone and mail order, plus 1 other capability. Tyro rates it a Power Up partner.
The Linkly integration runs in the cloud. The mx51 integration uses SPI JavaScript or Spice and was last certified in February 2023, on Browser and Windows. mx51 holds 2 separate certified builds for it, so what works depends which one you are on.
Peter Petroulas founded WizButler in Sydney, operating out of Barangaroo. His background is not software: a business degree with accounting and computing majors, CPA, corporate planning at Bayer, CFO roles at Eastwest Airlines and Air Niugini, then developing the dining precinct at Sydney's GPO Grand. That last job is where the product came from.
The problem he set out to fix was that reservation systems were turning bookings away at 60 to 65 per cent capacity because they could not sequence tables dynamically. WizButler is built around that — automated, dynamic table allocation to fill a room — with POS, kitchen display, events, ordering and loyalty built around the booking engine rather than the other way round. He filed patents from 2017 and was granted a US patent in 2022.
So it is a genuinely different animal to a standard till. For a high-turnover restaurant that lives and dies on covers per night, the booking logic is the product and the POS is the accessory.
