Woosh POS — bank compatibility

Woosh POS is a point-of-sale system for services, built by Woosh Cloud Australia. Listed here as a POS, but the company now leads with its own payments product — which changes the conversation.

Certified on Linkly and on Tyro. Worth knowing the difference: Tyro is its own acquirer, so that route means banking with Tyro. The Linkly route does not.

The vendor is Woosh Cloud Australia Pty Ltd, and the integration is real — Tyro lists Woosh POS with integrated purchases, receipts, refunds, reports, split payments and tipping, and the product is also certified with Linkly. There is a Woosh POS app on Google Play aimed at food businesses.

What has changed is where the company's attention is. Woosh's own site now leads with WooshPay, card terminals and payment services it describes as enterprise-grade payments powered by Adyen, sold into Australian retail, food, beauty, automotive and services. The model is a surcharging one: Woosh routes the payment, the customer pays the surcharge, and the merchant is paid a share of the margin back each month, with no subscription and no lock-in. The site also talks about global branded chains.

So read the listing with that in mind. A POS vendor that is also selling you payments is not a neutral party in the question of which acquirer you end up on, and a surcharge-funded arrangement is a materially different deal from paying for software and choosing your own bank. If you want this POS on a bank you have already chosen, say so up front and get the answer in writing — the certified path exists, but it is not what the vendor is leading with.
