Xchange Point POS — bank compatibility

Xchange Point is a point-of-sale system for hospitality, built by Task Retail Technology. The stadium and QSR engine behind Accor Stadium and Guzman y Gomez — Australian-built, and now owned out of New York.

Certified on Linkly, running on premise. Linkly reaches more acquirers than any other middleware in the market, which is why most POS start there.

The Linkly integration runs on premise.

This is Task Retail Technology's platform, and Task is one of the genuinely successful Australian POS stories. Kym and Jennifer Houden founded it in 2000, self-funded, out of the family garage; by 2009 it was handling more than a million retail transactions a day across 1,300-plus Australian stores from a purpose-built Sydney support centre.

Where it is strongest is high-volume venues. TASK was picked to build the new mobile app for Accor Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park with operator VenuesLive, having already deployed at CommBank Stadium, and has named SkyStadium, an expanded Compass Group Australia rollout, Pita Pit and a Bakers Delight deployment across 500-plus bakeries. PAR's own release at closing names Starbucks and Guzman y Gomez as users of the transaction platform, and McDonald's on the loyalty side across 65 markets.

Ownership has moved twice in three years. Plexure Group acquired Task Retail for A$120 million in October 2021 and renamed itself TASK Group Holdings (ASX: TSK) in October 2022; PAR Technology Corporation (NYSE: PAR) then took the whole group for about A$310 million, implemented 19 July 2024. The engineering is still Australian; the owner is not.
