TIM
ANZ Worldline's own terminal integration layer, used only with ANZ Worldline acquiring.
TIM is not an independent middleware. It belongs to ANZ Worldline and connects a point-of-sale system to ANZ Worldline terminals and nothing else.
That is the distinction worth understanding. An independent middleware is a reason a POS can move between banks. A proprietary layer like TIM is the opposite: a POS integrated only through TIM is integrated to one acquirer, and changing acquirer means a new integration.
The one bank it connects to
TIM belongs to ANZ Worldline and connects to ANZ Worldline only. A POS integrated through TIM alone is tied to ANZ Worldline: changing bank means a different integration.
