Fiserv
A major wholesale acquirer in Australia whose market presence is far larger than its brand visibility — several consumer-facing providers sit on its licence.
About Fiserv
Visa’s acquirer register lists this licence under First Data Merchant Solutions.
Fiserv’s Australian acquiring role is evidenced most strongly by third parties naming it. Fat Zebra discloses it is a registered third-party processor of First Data Merchant Solutions Australia Pty Ltd, and Braintree’s Australian payment services agreement names that same entity as one of its two acquirers, stating that on the Fiserv route PayPal acts as a payment facilitator.
Two Australian entity names appear in sources and the relationship between them is not publicly documented: First Data Network Australia Limited is the AusPayNet participant member, while First Data Merchant Solutions Australia Pty Ltd is the entity named as acquirer in third-party disclosures. Both are recorded here as a known open question.
Fiserv also sits behind bank-branded propositions: BOQ Specialist routes food, service, retail and agri clients to Fiserv’s Clover POS, HSBC Australia’s Omni Collect is delivered in partnership with Fiserv and Azupay, and BOQ moved to Fiserv for cloud-based debit card management in 2021. Its Australian head office is not published and is left blank.
