Zeller

Head office:
Melbourne, VIC, Australia

Melbourne-based, flat-rate card acceptance with a business account attached — and, despite the brand visibility, a payment facilitator on Cuscal’s licence rather than an acquirer.

About Zeller

Zeller launched in 2020 and built its offer around published, flat-rate pricing — a deliberate contrast to the quote-per-business model used by the banks and by Tyro. A merchant can see the rate before speaking to anyone, which is unusual in Australian acquiring. Beyond acceptance it offers a business transaction account and card, so settlement lands in an account the merchant already holds.

On the licensing question its own terms are explicit: Zeller states it is a payment facilitator, that it does not provide banking services and is not a bank, and it names the card scheme acquirer as Cuscal Limited, with American Express Australia Limited for Amex and UnionPay handled separately. Cuscal is also the ADI where the Zeller Account is held.

Every independent source agrees — Zeller is not on APRA’s ADI register, not an AusPayNet participant member, not an AP+ scheme member and not in the RBA’s least-cost-routing tables. It enabled Discover Network and Diners Club acceptance in March 2026. Its natural fit is the smaller or newer merchant: no lock-in, no monthly fee, and pricing that does not require a negotiation to discover.
