Adyen

Adyen

One platform from checkout to settlement, aimed at enterprise — the opposite of an independent gateway, on purpose.

Acquirer-tied

Tied by design. Adyen’s whole proposition is a single platform from checkout to settlement, so the gateway is not sold to sit in front of somebody else’s acquiring.

Yes — Adyen is an acquirer too

Adyen sells the absence of seams. Gateway, risk, acquiring and settlement on one platform, one integration and one set of reporting across every country a merchant operates in — which for a business selling in fifteen markets is worth more than any individual feature.

It is a principal acquirer and an AusPayNet participant member, though which entity holds the local acquiring is not publicly documented. The gateway settles through Adyen; it is not sold as a front end for a bank facility.

The market it is built for shows in everything from the commercial terms to the onboarding. For a single-country merchant doing moderate volume there are simpler and cheaper answers; for a large multinational the single platform is the whole point.

What it costs

Adyen does not publish gateway fees for Adyen. The merchant service fee is negotiated on your volume and card mix. Find out what yours should be.
