ANZ eGate

ANZ Worldline payment gateways

ANZ’s long-serving online gateway. The older MIGS version closed on 31 March 2026; the MPGS version continues and is one of the two places ANZ moved those merchants.

ANZ eGate ran a large share of Australian ecommerce for well over a decade, and 2026 split it in two. Mastercard decommissioned the platform behind the older eGate — MIGS version at end of life, and ANZ Worldline closed it on 31 March 2026. Merchants still on it after that date stopped processing.

What survives is eGate — MPGS, which ANZ named as one of the two migration destinations alongside Worldline Global Online Pay. So eGate is both a thing that closed and a thing that is current, depending on which version a merchant was on — which is exactly the kind of distinction that gets lost when a provider reuses a product name across two platforms.

The current version offers Hosted Checkout, Hosted Session and a REST/JSON API, with tokenisation. Wallet capability depends on how ANZ has configured the account rather than on the platform.

If a migration is still ahead, the choice between eGate — MPGS and Worldline Global Online Pay turns on effort as much as features. Staying on Mastercard Payment Gateway Services, which is the engine under eGate, keeps the integration patterns familiar; moving to Worldline Global Online Pay is a different stack but a longer runway.
