A Dutch specialist that builds nothing but unattended readers — the module behind the card reader on an EV charger, a car wash or a vending machine.
About Payter
Payter is headquartered in Rotterdam and does one thing: contactless readers for machines that nobody staffs. There are no handhelds and no countertop terminals in the range, which is unusual — PAX, Ingenico and Castles all build unattended modules as a sideline to a much larger attended business, and Payter does not.
That focus shows up in the hardware. The Apollo range mounts behind glass, runs on a 12 to 24V MDB supply straight out of a vending machine, and is built to a European Vending Association frame so it drops into a slot that already exists. The operating range starts at -20C.
Payter does not acquire. Its terminals reach merchants through acquirers and payment service providers — it announced a partnership with Shift4 for unattended and EV charging — and through the machine builders who integrate the reader into their own product.
