Yes — Westpac is an acquirer too

PayWay is not one product. Westpac sells it as six named pieces and a merchant usually buys two or three: Westpac Hosted PayWay for a customisable hosted payment page, PayWay API for real-time server-to-server authorisation, PayWay Virtual Terminal for taking a card without an EFTPOS machine, PayWay Phone for IVR payments, PayWay Batch for file-based processing, and PayWay Recurring Billing for subscriptions.

The spread is the reason it persists in sectors that are not retail — councils, utilities, not-for-profits, anyone billing the same people every month. Recurring billing and batch processing are not what a card-present gateway is usually built for.

Westpac does not publish PayWay’s fees on the product page; they are in a separate brochure and quoted on application. It is acquirer-tied, so the gateway and the merchant facility move together.

What it costs

Westpac does not publish gateway fees for PayWay. The merchant service fee is negotiated on your volume and card mix. Find out what yours should be.
