BPOINT is one of three CommBank gateways now closed to new customers, alongside CommWeb and PowerBoard. CommBank still supports existing merchants on it and publishes quick reference guides, but a business applying today is not offered it.
That is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly: the largest bank in the country is no longer selling its own online gateway. CommBank says it is integrating a new ecommerce platform during 2026, and in the meantime points merchants at an Internet Merchant Account — a CommBank merchant facility sitting behind an independent gateway of the merchant’s choosing.
For a merchant on BPOINT the practical question is timing: when the new platform lands, whether migration is required, and what it costs in development. Worth asking before the decision is made for you.
What it costs
CommBank does not publish gateway fees for BPOINT. The merchant service fee is negotiated on your volume and card mix. Find out what yours should be.
