The FastFuel OPT is a forecourt terminal rather than a counter one — the pedestal or wall unit a customer pays at before filling up. The screen is 12.1 inches, which is a different proposition from a 3.5-inch terminal: it carries promotional screens, branding and audio as well as the transaction.
It is the only device on this site designed and manufactured in Australia, which for a fuel site is a support argument rather than a patriotic one — Quest dispatches replacement parts locally and supports it remotely with alert monitoring. The body is corrosion-resistant aluminium around an industrial PC.
It accepts the scheme cards and wallets and, separately, eftpos CHQ and SAV — which matters more on a forecourt than almost anywhere, because fuel is where debit share is highest. It also handles local white cards with discounts and cardless pump activation, supports multi-hose dispensing in one transaction, sends receipts by SMS or email, and talks to most pump protocols and to IFSF electronic price boards through an optional module.
Connectivity runs over the site’s existing broadband rather than a dedicated phone line, with a 4G modem as backup, and there is a VOIP help phone that rings the operator’s office or mobile. Mounting options are pedestal, wall or floating dock, with a weather canopy available.
What it costs
The rate you pay is negotiated on your volume and card mix, not set by the terminal — two businesses on the same FastFuel OPT can be paying very different money. Find out what yours should be.
