The A920 Pro is the terminal most Australians picture when they picture a modern EFTPOS machine: a handheld that looks like a chunky phone, runs Android, and prints a receipt out of the top.

Running Android matters more than it sounds. The device can carry a full point-of-sale application rather than only a payment application, so the same unit takes the order and takes the payment. The top-side scanner reads a barcode or a QR code without a second device.

It is sold in Australia in both Android 10 and Android 14 builds — worth asking which one you are being offered, because the older build is on hardware that is several years into its life. Physically it is 178 x 78 x 54mm and 391g with the battery in.

What it costs

The rate you pay is negotiated on your volume and card mix, not set by the terminal — two businesses on the same A920 Pro can be paying very different money. Find out what yours should be.
