The Carbon Mobile 5 comes two ways and the gap between them is larger than the name suggests. Without a printer it is 166 x 78 x 15mm and 220g on a 3900mAh battery. With one it is 180 x 78 x 58mm and 420g on a 6200mAh battery — nearly twice the weight and four times the depth.
Verifone pitches it at both ends of the market: custom integrations and in-aisle selling for large retailers, or a turnkey POS with payment and reporting for a small business out of the box. The platform is the same quad-core A7 with 2GB and 16GB on Android 8.1 as the T650 family.
A 5-inch 720 x 1280 display, 2MP front and 5MP rear cameras with an LED light, barcode, OCR and QR decode. Security is PCI 5.x. A charging base and a multi-unit charger are accessories.
