The T650p is the portable in a family of three that share one body and one platform: this one, the countertop T650c and the slim T650m. All run a quad-core A7 at 1.1GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of flash on Verifone’s locked-down Android 8.1.
The base pairs over Bluetooth, so the terminal lifts off the counter and keeps working — Verifone’s phrase is grab and go. The screen is 5.5 inches at 720 x 1280 and rotates, there is a 40mm printer, and a 5MP rear camera handles barcodes, OCR and QR codes.
It is 211 x 84 x 72mm and 363g, on a field-replaceable 2600mAh battery. Security is PCI 5.x — the oldest certification in the current Verifone range, and the thing to weigh against the V660p or the Victa if the fleet has to stay out for years.
Navigator, Verifone’s accessibility layer for visually impaired customers, runs on it.
