The DX8 is the one to ask about if you are being quoted an Axium in 2026. It is the only device in the range on Android 14 and PCI PTS v7, and that gap matters more than the spec sheet suggests: the OS version and the certification together decide how many years a terminal can stay in the field before it has to be replaced.
The hardware is a generation ahead of the rest of the line — an octa-core processor, 16GB flash and 2GB RAM as standard rising to 64GB and 4GB, a 6.5-inch HD+ display and an optional second screen on the back facing the customer. The battery is removable and swappable at up to 3350mAh, which across a long trading day is more useful than a larger sealed cell.
It measures 183.5 x 79.6 x 57.7mm and weighs 458g with the battery. Cameras are 2MP front and 5MP rear as standard, with a 13MP rear and a dedicated barcode scanner as options. Ingenico builds it to EN 301 549, the European accessibility standard.
What it costs
The rate you pay is negotiated on your volume and card mix, not set by the terminal — two businesses on the same Axium DX8 can be paying very different money. Find out what yours should be.
