The Self/5000 LE is the Self/4000 with the keypad replaced by a 3.26-inch capacitive touchscreen and PIN on Glass certification. Same hybrid card reader with a shutter, same magstripe, same contactless, same body at 85 x 107.2 x 109.6mm and 620g.
Specify this one when the kiosk needs to look modern and still take a PIN, and the Self/4000 when it needs physical keys. The trade-off really is that simple.
IK09 and IP44, so indoor or sheltered outdoor rather than fully exposed. 4G is standard here rather than an add-on box. PCI PTS v6 with PIN on Glass, 512MB flash and 512MB RAM, two SAM slots, and a deep sleep mode for sites on a limited supply.
What it costs
The rate you pay is negotiated on your volume and card mix, not set by the terminal — two businesses on the same Self/5000 LE can be paying very different money. Find out what yours should be.
