The SX5000 is a module rather than a terminal. It is cut into the front of a kiosk, a vending machine or an EV charger, with 31.5mm protruding and 25.4mm sitting inside. It takes contactless and QR payments only — there is no chip slot and no magstripe reader — and PIN entry happens on the glass.

It runs Android 14 on a quad-core A53 at 2GHz, with a 5-inch 720 x 1280 display behind 5mm glass. Presence and luminosity sensors wake it and manage its power draw. It is IP65 and IK09, rated from -20 to +65C, and certified for outdoor use.

Connectivity is the part an integrator cares about: MDB 4.3 slave for vending, RS232, USB host and device, Ethernet, an HDMI port for an external screen, and isolated I/O. It is 110 x 145.9 x 56.9mm and 532g, PCI PTS v6, and compliant with the EVA EPS standard door module so it fits an existing cutout.

What it costs

The rate you pay is negotiated on your volume and card mix, not set by the terminal — two businesses on the same Axium SX5000 can be paying very different money. Find out what yours should be.
