The Move/5000 is the portable most Australian merchants have actually held. It is not an Android device and does not pretend to be one: it runs Ingenico’s own Telium TETRA, a payment operating system rather than a general-purpose one. There is less on it to go wrong and less to update.
The 3.5-inch colour touchscreen is small by 2026 standards, but the printer is quick at up to 30 lines a second and the terminal falls back across 4G, 3G and GPRS by itself rather than stopping. Two SIM slots are standard, so one carrier being weak in a particular street is not a dead terminal.
It measures 169 x 78 x 57mm and weighs 320g with the battery, which is 3100mAh as standard. Security is PCI PTS v6. A 1D/2D barcode scanner, a 5MP rear camera and GPS tracking are all options rather than standard fit — worth confirming before assuming a quoted unit has them.
What it costs
The rate you pay is negotiated on your volume and card mix, not set by the terminal — two businesses on the same Move/5000 can be paying very different money. Find out what yours should be.
