The UPT1000F-C predates the Android S1U2 modules and is still sold, which tells you something about how long unattended estates stay in the ground. It runs secure Linux on a 400MHz processor with 256MB of flash and 128MB of RAM — numbers that look thin until you remember it only has to take a tap.
It is contactless only, with a virtual keypad supporting PIN on touch, and a 3.5-inch 600-nit touchscreen. Two SAM slots expandable to four, two SIM slots, and MDB for vending.
It is 128 x 94 x 64mm and 435g, IP65 and IK10, rated -10 to +60C, input 9 to 48V. Certification is PCI PTS 5.x, which is the thing to check against the replacement cycle — the Android modules beside it are 7.x.
What it costs
The rate you pay is negotiated on your volume and card mix, not set by the terminal — two businesses on the same UPT1000F-C can be paying very different money. Find out what yours should be.
